Happy Birthday To Me

21!!!!! YE-AH! I got to celebrate my 21st birthday in London. Best birthday ever! Since my birthday fell on the Sabbath this year, I did my big celebration on Saturday.

The day started out with a trip to Harrods.  I tried on hats.

And looked at scarves and gloves.

And looked at 1500 pound handbags

Then I got "birthday cake", a delicious pastry from the Bakery

Then to the Chocolate Bar. Yes. Harrods has a chocolate bar. Since I don't drink, what better bar to go to on my 21st birthday than a chocolate bar?

These are some friends that spent the day with me. They are the best!

I got a milk chocolate shot. It is straight chocolate just melted. Amazing.

It was REALLY good.

The spoon was also a straw

Then we went to Kensington Palace for High Afternoon Tea.

This is the tea room

We saved a seat for the Queen. She never came. How rude.

I really liked the herbal tea I got and the orange cake was very good.

My friends are the best and are so sweet to spend the day with me!

That night, we went to dinner at Princess Diana's favorite Italian restaurant. It was called Da Mario. It was very, very good. 11 of my friends came to celebrate with me.

They don't do birthday things at the restaurant, but my friend talked the waiter into doing something for me. I got free Tiramisu!

They were all so nice to come and celebrate with me and made me feel so special.

The next day was my actual birthday. I had a picnic in the park for lunch.

Later that day, we went to Westminster Abbey for Evansong. It was so cool to see the inside of Westminster for free. The choir sang and it was so beautiful. We sat right next to Handel's memorial. I felt cool.

Right after, we went to St. Paul's for an Organ Recital. I like St. Paul's alot better than Westminster. I think it's prettier; less gothic.

It was the best birthday of my life! So traditionally English and so much fun! Thanks to all who helped me celebrate it, you all made me feel so loved. I'm so happy to be 21. I feel more like an adult now, it feels good. Thanks for reading!

Kew Gardens and Dover Castle

A few days ago, as a class, we went to Kew Gardens. It was so beautiful and so big.

There was a peacock just walking around the grounds!

Me and my friend Camille

This plant grows like 3 inches a day. So fast.

Rainforest room.

It was so humid in there. Thank you dad for giving me your wavy hair that flares up in humidity.

They had lots of fake big tropical animals.

I saw Legally Blonde: The Musical after that. It was so much fun! I LOVED it! It was the most fun I had had as an audience member in a long time.

The theatre.

The next day I went to Dover Castle. It is in a city a 2 hour train ride away from London.

Classic telephone booth picture.

Welcome to my home.

This is the English Channel. On a clear day, you can see the coast of France. You can kind of see it,  that grey line in the distance.

More castle

This tunnel was really dark and we couldn't really see anything, so I went in first and after a few steps screamed "oh my gosh you guys, there's a skeleton in here!" Camille screamed bloody murder and ran out of the tunnel. I was laughing so hard my stomach hurt.

Andrea was kind enough to be the prince that day. Her "proposing" in the castle.

Beautiful view.

When me and Camille decided to go to Dover, she said she wanted us to wear dresses and pretend we were princesses and run around like we owned the place. Of course I was down with that. So this is us, the two princesses with our kingdom in the background.

This in the tunnels. They were creepy.

Cannons, man.
